An exclusive feature of the Auger II module is its patented interlocking lap joint. This joint design produces a substantially smooth, strong and continuous surface, extremely important when conveying abrasive materials. A unique advantage of this interlocking design is a stronger flight joint. Because of the beveled design, no gap is created at the flight joint during operation. Pressure exerted by the conveyed material actually forces flight joints together, producing strong, abrasion-resistant flighting. Without thsi unique advantage, flights could spread and misalign at the joint with extended use, causing excessive wear and premature failure. Auger II is easily and economically repaired if necessary. In applications where areas of high wear may develop, or in the case of damage, individual modules may be replaced. Rather than the costly replacement of the entire auger segment, only worn or damaged modules are removed from the center tube and replaced.
